Reese Brownlee, a junior at Clear Lake High in Iowa, placed second in the girls 400 meters in a lifetime-best 55.93 seconds at the 114th Drake Relays Presented by Xtream and Powered by Mediacom at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Both Brownlee and race winner Anjelena Carder from Waukee High eclipsed the previous meet record of 56.15 achieved in 2022 by Gabby Cortez of Cedar Rapids Prairie High.
